Stainless Steel Outboard Motor Lock
In only my second season I had to cut my OLD "STEEL" LOCK BAR off due to the amount of rust and corrosion from saltwater. It was coated but didn't last and was a real pain to remove.
This stainless lock bar item is definitely worth the extra money!!! The key portion of the lock is covered with a rubber boot to keep the salt water out. It sits in the bar upside down so the lock is somewhat protected. I have no idea if the lock is stainless though I presume it is NOT.
**Keep and eye out for lock corrosion in any case. Spray lock with lubricant regularly.
The middle of the lock bar should have something like foam inside to prevent rattling against the threaded motor clamps. Other than the sound of the rattling, I am very pleased.
